At the January 2013 General Chapter meeting, the Congregation voted unanimously to expand our presence in southeast Asia. In July, we joined our Carmelite brothers from the Australian Province in their ministry to the people of Timor-Leste.
In a nation wounded by injustices and armed conflicts, God calls us to respond through our Carmelite Charism, in restoring the dignity and uplifting the human spirit of the people of Timor-Leste. Please keep our new foundation and our sisters in the Philippine Islands in your prayers. They generously sent forth two sisters who have been active in our Philippine ministries.
